Precautions:

Do not use during pregnancy, during ovulation (if trying to conceive), or during your cycle. Please consult with your trusted healthcare provider prior if you have any concerns.

If you have an IUD in place steam for less time- 5-10 minutes maximum.

Use 6 weeks after giving birth.

Use 3 weeks after a miscarriage or DNC.

How to prepare:

Boil 6 cups of water. Add 1/4 cup (or a decent handful) of herbs to a glass or metal bowl (make sure it’s heat safe- avoid plastic) and set aside.

Once water is done boiling you may then pour the boiling water over the herbs and let steep for 10 mins. Place a cover over the bowl.

When 10 minutes have passed, remove the lid to the bowl of herbs. Wave your hand over it after a few minutes to gauge the temperature. You don’t want it to be too hot as the skin down there is very sensitive.

Grab a sheet or something comfortable to cover yourself with place it where you will be steaming. Remove your bottom half of clothing. Take the bowl of steaming herbs (using oven mitts) to desired area of steaming.

If you don’t have a fancy steam stool you can find a clean, comfortable and private space to place the bowl. We don’t recommend a toilet set up. Please refrain from using hot plastic while steaming. All potency of the herbs will be lost.

You can do the frog or child’s pose (yoga), or squat over the bowl. There should be a consistent rolling steam coming from the bowl. Make sure to cover yourself and not let any steam out. Stay there until the steam itself subsides.

We recommend doing a steam once a month, especially after your cycle.

Herbs: Calendula flowers, Rose petals, Motherwort, Mugwort, Red Raspberry leaf, Lavender flower, Plantain leaf, and Yarrow flower and leaf
